Hello Dear Soul Friend!
I haven’t written for almost a month now. It’s not that there haven’t been days when I’ve sat down to do so, inspired by some event or dream message, or news. I have done but for some reason I’ve been called to back out of it to sit awhile in stillness.
There seems to be an undulating theme this year during a wild winter in the Northern Hemisphere. I feel a call to pause, not jump into judgement. A call to move into a quietness, into knowing that we cannot see the outcomes. Anxiety about the unknown and projected fears only block our ability to thrive. In quietness we connect with that higher field, which brings solutions and peace, and the power of waiting in trust.
I’m finding that without stepping into the natural rhythms of the season, as Mother Nature shows us her ways to follow, our old patterns of productivity just won’t produce the best results. In my case I kept hitting a wall. She was urging me hard to step out of the frey and into this season of deep renewal.
I am listening to that call. As much as the cool air of winter has frequently led me sit and snuggle in for a spell, I have also continued to push forward intermittentently with busyness only to be pulled back through lack of progress into the calm again.
Surely, when we settle enough to listen even briefly there are benefits.
I’m wondering if YOU are ALLOWING the calm calling of this season to be answered? If so, how is that working for you? It may be difficult to even recognize the voice of that calling with so much drama around. In a world of duality it is we who must choose which of these two energies to embrace.
Once I put all of my holiday decorations away, and that took much longer than I expected it to, I looked at my primary space as a barren landscape and pondered: What do I really want to emit for myself? Who am I becoming?What fires do I need to stoke for where I wish to go? What kind of sensibility can I bring to my eyes and body that will move me into a NEW SPACE as I begin evolving forward in this new year? Clarity please!
I enjoy changing things up with the seasons and so I leaned into that. But this year feels very different for me. I am hearing and sensing this pull into the experience of Winter. For the first time I can recall I feel the season embracing me with her gifts and it’s feeling refreshing. Normally, I dislike the cold and most of my life have felt like I am fighting it. Looking at winter this way by consciously merging with her attributes has been truly different. And Yes, there are rewards. I am finding something akin to a maturing, an understanding that’s hard to express. It’s an alignment of choice.
I know more than ever, regardless of the outside world and it’s influence on my living experience I am responsible for the richness of my inner-life and that is what will lead me forward. And so I began with visual and sensory changes.
First I took in the areas and spaces I look at and enjoy every day and questioned how I might Feng Shui the energy. I chose to focus first on bringing in a color to lead the way. That became Navy Blue! It seems wintery and fresh. It has the depth of the sky and sea all wrapped within it. So, I moved items with Navy Blue from my storage closet and other areas into prominent spots in my livingroom and diningroom. I always begin with my fireplace mantle.
Plants play a big role and their access to light in winter is important. They represent the renewal of life to me, as does the color Forest Green. So that second accent color along with some white, and bits of purple, plus some cushy fabrics were the easiest way for me to ‘allow’ and encourage working WITH the flow of Winter rather than fighting it, and/or (symbolicly), fighting against the things I cannot control. I have simple meditation to support me when I get pulled into THAT drama. What a blessing that is. (See today’s Guided Meditation gift below).
Quite a few people have recently mentioned feeling stuck in these waves of transition, confusion, lack of clarity. Maybe you too are experiencing something similar or sensing a calling within this season that wants to work with you.
So, I’ve included a Guided Meditation gift that really has multiple purposes and is very fitting for deeper connections, releases, and transformative goals.
One purpose of this meditation is to create a partnering between your mind and your heart energy so that you have a space to enter when you feel overwhelmed, or you keep looping into some form of overactive brain activity.
The second purpose is the bonus I found doing this; which is activating a frequency within your body that really takes you to another space and fills you up with an energy of being truly elevated. That is the launchpad for manifesting a lovely shift!
